According to countries where mountain gorillas reside, each traveler or tourist is permitted to spend only one hour with a given habituated mountain gorilla family. This one hour starts counting the moment the tourist comes into contact with the mountain gorillas. This policy applies in all three mountain gorilla countries except Uganda where a tourist can have a chance of booking the gorilla habituation experience permit. Depending on the location of the gorillas being habituated, the gorilla habituation exercise can take about half a day or a full day. Once the tourists come into contact with the gorillas, tourists are allowed to spend only 1 hour with the mountain gorillas and this depends on how the gorillas react to the human presence on that particular day.
