Tour Overview

Our 12 days exclusive Uganda wildlife and gorilla safari starts and ends in Entebbe. It includes 1 gorilla permit of $800 per person in the final cost. This safari will take Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking. Zziwa rhino sanctuary is a home to black and white Rhinos and this sanctuary was established mainly to protect these rhinos from danger and poachers. The safari will proceed to Murchison Falls National Park which is Uganda’s most visited and largest savannah national park. Murchison Falls also has Africa’s most powerful waterfalls and most travelers come to Uganda specifically to see the falls. The safari takes you to Queen Elizabeth famous for the Kazinga channel and many animal species including tree-climbing lions found in the Ishasha sector of the park. The other animal species found in this park include birds, elephants, kobs, and antelopes among others. This safari continues to Bwindi impenetrable national park in western Uganda. This park has got over 340 mountain gorillas making it half of the mountain gorillas remaining in the world. You will proceed to Lake Bunyonyi which is famously known as the Switzerland of Africa and while there, you will take a relaxed boat ride along the beautiful lake. Finally, this safari will take you to Lake Mburo National Park which is famous for zebras and the biggest antelope.

Detailed Itinerary. 12 days exclusive Uganda Wildlife & Gorilla Safari

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the hotel

Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by the driver guide. He will take you through the trip plan and then transfer to your hotel in Kampala for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Rhino tracking at Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary and transfer to Murchison Falls

Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and then track you through these black and white Rhinos. This sanctuary was established mainly to protect these rhinos from danger and poachers.

After rhino tracking, you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park and do an afternoon boat cruise. This boat will allow you get close to the water animals which include over 4000 hippos as well as the Nile crocodiles. The Nile has got many stunning bird lives which is also enjoyed while taking your boat trip; these include the bee eaters, colored kingfishers, shoebill storks, grey throated and yellow-billed birds.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

With your packed breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive with your guide who will help you spot a large number of wildlife found in the park, you will be able to spot a lot of African animal wildlife for example: elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, different species of antelope and many tropical birds. After the game drive, you will have lunch and then set out for an afternoon boat cruise. This boat will allow you get close to the water animals which include over 4000 hippos as well as the Nile crocodiles. The Nile has got many stunning bird lives which is also enjoyed while taking your boat trip; these include; the bee-eaters, colored kingfishers, shoebill stork, grey throated and yellow-billed birds. After the boat cruise, you will go for a rest at the lodge in the Evening as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Fort portal

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Fort Portal with beautiful views of the countryside. You will check in at the lodge for relaxation as you cut off the fatigue of the long distance.

Day 5: Crater Lakes and Amabere ga Nyinamwiru visit

After breakfast, you will proceed to the Amabere Ga’nyinamwiru Caves. With the help of a local guide, you will trail down the caves for spectacular views. While there, you will be able to see caves with stunning stalactites and stalagmites with the milky substances within and scenic waterfalls adjacent.

After lunch, you will visit the Crater Lakes in Fort Portal. One of the famous crater lakes in Uganda is Nyinambuga Crater Lake whose photo is engraved on the twenty thousand Uganda shillings note (20,000), others include Lyantonde and Rukwanzi Crater Lake, and Kyaninga crater Lake a small crater lake with the most fascinating breathtaking features.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This national park is famous for a variety of wildlife and chimpanzee species. The park was named after Queen Elizabeth the Second and it has a variety of animal species including impalas, kobs, forest hogs, elephants, buffaloes, tree-climbing lions, and the cape buffaloes. Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth, you will have lunch and have an afternoon at leisure.

Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.

Arise early enough and after breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive where you will see various animals like elephants, elands, antelopes, buffaloes, and lions among others. After having your lunch at the lodge, you will transfer to Ishasha to see the famous tree-climbing lions which can only be sighted at Queen Elizabeth in the Ishasha sector. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will do the afternoon set out for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will see various animals like crocodiles, hippos, water bucks, and buffaloes as well as birds like storks, and kingfishers among others.

Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park via the Ishasha sector. The Ishasha sector is famous for its tree-climbing lions and the chances of seeing them are very high. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

With well well-prepared packed lunch, you will assemble for briefing time at 8:00 am. During the briefing, you will learn more about the dos and don’ts of the gorilla trekking. It is at the briefing point where you will find the rangers who will inform you about gorilla tracking the great adventure and experience!  The time taken to encounter these peaceful primates is impulsive for it may take 1-5 hours. Nevertheless, on encounter, one may be forced to say, it is stunning!!!! After the adventure certificate rewards will be successfully given out to every trekker.  After trekking, you will exit the park and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi with a packed lunch. Lake Bunyonyi is commonly known as the Switzerland of Africa. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge for relaxation as you contemplate on the adventure that lies ahead of you.

Day 10: Boat ride to the numerous islands

After a tasty breakfast at your lodge, you will take a relaxed boat ride on Lake Bunyonyi to the numerous islands to sightsee as well as view the various bird species.

The boat ride will also take you to visit the Batwa community. After the boat ride, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with an afternoon boat cruise

After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to Lake Mburo National Park which is among Uganda’s smallest savannah national parks. It was upgraded as a national park in 1983 and it is home to 332 bird species, animals like buffaloes, Oribis, kobs, warthogs, and zebras among others.

Upon arrival at the park, you will check in at the lodge, and have lunch in preparation for an unforgettable experience of the boat cruise along the lake. Still, a number of animals like crocodiles, and hippos among others will be seen.  After the boat cruise, you will head back to the lodge for relaxation, an overnight stay, and dinner.

Day 12: Game drive and transfer to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will set out for the game drive through the park where your eyes will be fed with amazing sights and wildlife such as impalas, kobs, antelopes, also bird species.

Lake Mburo has a variety of antelopes including topi, duiker, Oribis, reedbuck, and klipspringer and the Rothschild giraffe has recently been reintroduced. However, the heights of the park have to be the Burch ells zebra and eland which are only found in two national parks in Uganda.

Saying goodbye to Lake Mburo National Park is never easy. After the game drive, you will check out of the lodge and transfer back to Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
