Detailed Itinerary: 5 days Rwanda Safari Package

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met and greeted by our friendly driver-guide, who will brief you and take you through your trip plan. He will then transfer you to your hotel for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 2: City tour and transfer to volcanoes

At 7:00 am, you will have breakfast and transfer to Kigali for the city tour. You will visit Ntarama Church, where you will learn more about the 1994 genocide memorial. From Nyamata church, crown the genocide history with a visit to the Gisozi genocide memorial museum, where you will learn more about the history of the genocide memorial and how it went throughout the country. After lunch, you will visit the firehouse, which is the area where the plane that was carrying President Habyarimana was brought down, which later sparked the famous 1994 Rwanda genocide. You will then visit the Belgium Museum and learn more about Rwanda’s culture. After the city tour, you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking at Volcanoes National Park

On this day, you will have a great time meeting the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park! After a tasty breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the lodge. You will head for a briefing by ranger guides at 7:30 and, at 8:30 am with a packed lunch. You will start the trek to hunt for the gorillas, and after finding them, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them. This walk can take 4-5 hours depending on where you meet the gorillas. The park is steep; it is a real hike, and being physically fit is recommended. After trekking, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Golden monkey trekking

This will take us through the edges of the forest via potato fields, and the briefing will be conducted in the same place where the usual Kinigi park office is located. This means the trekking will take us 3-4 hours. After the trekking, we shall return to the lodge for lunch and transfer back to Kigali.

Day 5: Transfer to the airport for your flight.

After an early breakfast, you will begin your final transfer to Kigali International Airport. Enjoy the last views of Rwanda’s beautiful landscapes along the way before arriving at the airport in time for your scheduled flight.
