The 7 days explore Rwanda & Uganda safari starts in Kigali and ends in Entebbe. The safari takes you to Bwindi impenetrable national park in western Uganda. This park has got over 340 mountain gorillas making it half of the mountain gorillas remaining in the world. The safari will continue to Queen Elizabeth famous for the Kazinga channel and many animal species including tree-climbing lions found in the Ishasha sector of the park. The other animal species found in this park include birds, elephants, kobs, and antelopes among others. Lastly, you will visit Lake Mburo National Park for several game drives and wildlife species. Lake Mburo is the smallest national park in Uganda is commonly known as the “zebra-hearted land”.

Detailed itinerary: 7 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport & transfer to Bwindi impenetrable

Welcome to the land of a thousand hills! Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by your English-speaking guide. He will briefly take you through the trip plan and transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable, home of the heavyweights. On your way to Bwindi, you will enjoy beautiful views of the countryside with an opportunity to capture beautiful moments.

Accommodation: Clouds mountain gorilla lodge (Luxury)/ Ichumbi gorilla lodge (Midrange)

Meal plan: Full board

Day 2: Gorilla trekking- Bwindi Impenetrable

With well well-prepared packed lunch, you will assemble for briefing time at 8:00 am. During the briefing, you will learn more about the dos and don’ts of the gorilla trekking. It is at the briefing point where you will find the rangers who will inform you about gorilla tracking the great adventure and experience!  The time taken to encounter these peaceful primates is impulsive for it may take 1-5 hours. Nevertheless, on encounter, one may be forced to say, it is stunning!!!! After the adventure certificate rewards will be successfully given out to every trekker. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for relaxation.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This national park is famous for a variety of wildlife and chimpanzee species. The park was named after Queen Elizabeth the Second and it has a variety of animal species including impalas, kobs, forest hogs, elephants, buffaloes, tree-climbing lions, and the cape buffaloes.

Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth, you will have lunch and then have the afternoon at leisure. You can opt to visit the Lake Katwe salt mines.

Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.

Arise early enough and after breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive where you will see various animals like elephants, elands, antelopes, buffaloes, and lions among others. After having your lunch at the lodge, you will transfer to Ishasha to see the famous tree-climbing lions which can only be sighted at Queen Elizabeth in the Ishasha sector. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will do the afternoon set out for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will see various animals like crocodiles, hippos, water bucks, and buffaloes as well as birds like storks, and kingfishers among others.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with an afternoon boat cruise

After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to Lake Mburo National Park which is among Uganda’s smallest savannah national parks. It was upgraded as a national park in 1983 and it is home to 332 bird species, animals like buffaloes, Oribis, kobs, warthogs, and zebras among others.

Upon arrival at the park, you will check in at the lodge, and have lunch in preparation for an unforgettable experience of the boat cruise along the lake. Still, several animals like crocodiles, and hippos among others will be seen.  After the boat cruise, you will head back to the lodge for relaxation, an overnight stay, and dinner.

Day 6: Game drive and afternoon at leisure

After breakfast, you will set out for the game drive through the park where your eyes will be fed with amazing sights and wildlife such as impalas, kobs, antelopes, also bird species.

Lake Mburo has a variety of antelopes including topi, duiker, Oribis, reedbuck, and klipspringer and the Rothschild giraffe has recently been reintroduced. However, the heights of the park have to be the Burch ells zebra and eland which are only found in two national parks in Uganda. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge and have the afternoon at leisure. In the evening, you could go for an evening game drive.

Day 7: Transfer back to Entebbe

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for the transfer back to Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
