The 8-day exclusive primate safari starts in Entebbe and ends in Kigali. This trip will take you to 3 of Uganda’s primate protected areas namely Kibale Forest National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The trip will take you to Kibale Forest National Park which is famously known as the primate capital and while there, you will do chimpanzee trekking. The trip will continue to Bwindi impenetrable national park for single gorilla trekking.

While at Bwindi, you will have fun meeting the mountain gorillas that share 99% of DNA with humans. This trip will also take you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and while there, you will have fun meeting the mountain gorillas that share 99% DNA with humans. Detailed Itinerary  for 8 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Upon arrival, you will be met and greeted by your English-speaking driver guide who will briefly take you through the trip plan. He will then transfer you to your hotel in Entebbe for relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for the transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park with an en-route lunch. Kibale is famously known as the primate capital and the transfer to Kibale Forest National Park takes approximately 6 hours. Upon arrival at the park, you will check in at the lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay as you contemplate the chimpanzee trekking adventure that lies ahead of you.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking at Kibale

Arise very early and head to Kanyanchu with a packed lunch by to embark on the chimpanzee trek in the Kibale forest. Chimpanzees are considered to be the closest relatives of human beings and they share 98% of their DNA with that of human beings. As you continue with the search for these beautiful chimps, you will view many other primate and animal species including the LHoests monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, bush babies, and many bird species including yellow-spotted nictor, ramped tinker, crowned eagle, as well as the elephants which are mammals. Immediately after the long trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi NP

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for the transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda (harboring an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population) including several habituated groups, which you will trek. With a strenuous day ahead, you will do less on arrival but just check in your accommodation, and relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the following day.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking

On this day, you will have a great time encountering the mountain gorillas of Volcanoes National Park! After a tasty breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the lodge and transfer you to the briefing point for a briefing by ranger guides at 7:30 and at 8:30 am about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. With a packed lunch, you will start the trek to track the gorillas and after locating them, you will only spend a maximum of 1 hour. This walk can take approximately 4-5 hours depending on where the gorillas slept the previous night.

Day 6: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge with the help of your guide and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park with beautiful views of the countryside. Upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge for lunch as you contemplate the adventure that lies ahead of you during your 8-day Uganda Safari.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking at Mgahinga

On this day, you will have a great time encountering the mountain gorillas of Mgahinga National Park! After a tasty breakfast, your guide will pick you up from the lodge and transfer you to the briefing point for a briefing by ranger guides at 7:30 and 8:30 am about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. With a packed lunch, you will start the trek to track the gorillas and after locating them, you will only spend a maximum of 1 hour. After lunch, you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park.

Day 8: Golden monkey trekking and transfer to Kigali

This will take us through the edges of the forest via potato fields and the briefing will be conducted in the same place where the usual Kinigi park office is located this means the trekking will take us 3-4 hours after the trekking, we shall return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will transfer back to Kigali International Airport for your flight back home.
