The 3 Days Murchison Falls Safari starts and ends in Kampala. It will then take you to Murchison Falls National Park, one of Uganda’s largest parks. The park is located in Northwestern Uganda and was gazetted as a game reserve in 1926.

Murchison Falls is home to over 451 bird species such as the Great blue Turaco, Goliath heron, the Shoebill, and the dwarf kingfisher among others, 76 mammal species, a large number of Nile crocodiles, and above all the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls squeezing their way through a gorge that is 8m wide. During this trip, you can participate in the game drive, the top of the falls hike, and the boat cruises along the Nile River.

Detailed Itinerary: 3 Days Murchison Falls Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park with Rhino tracking.

Wake up early from your hotel/ place of residence and begin the 5 hours journey to the mighty Murchison Falls National Park. You will have stopovers at the key point and the main markets to check out some sweet fresh fruits.

You will continue to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary for an encounter with Uganda’s last remaining rhinos. Both black and white Rhinos. Upon arrival, you will track these black and white Rhinos. This sanctuary was established mainly to protect these rhinos from danger and poachers. After rhino tracking, you will have lunch and then transfer to Murchison Falls for an overnight stay and dinner. your hotel in Masindi.

Day 2: Morning game drive, hike to the top of the falls, and afternoon boat cruise

Enjoy your breakfast at your hotel, after proceeding to search for the wildlife species on a game drive. You will get a chance to view many species including; giraffes, lions, elephants, buffaloes, birds, and many more.

After the game drive, you will hike to the top of the falls. Hiking to the top of the falls roughly takes 45 minutes to an hour depending on your pace, and is fun, and rewarding as you enjoy the beauty of nature, meet some monkeys along the way on a lucky day, as well several bird species can be sighted.

The guide will take you back to the lodge to have your lunch at the lodge as you prepare to enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile River. This boat will allow you to get close to the water animals which include over 4,000 hippos as well as the Nile crocodiles. The Nile has many stunning bird lives that can also enjoyed while taking your boat trip; these include; bee-eaters, colored kingfishers, shoebill storks, grey grey-throated and yellow-billed birds.

Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer back to Kampala.
