Detailed Itinerary: 6 Days Tanzania Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Serengeti National Park

This package starts when our representative meets you at the international airport of Kilimanjaro and private transfers direct to Serengeti National Park. We will travel to Serengeti on a road near the rim of Ngorongoro Crater, allowing for animal sightings along the way. The golden savannah and endless plains, teeming with zebras, wildebeest, and giraffes make it easy to understand why the Serengeti is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. On this day, we will enjoy a picnic lunch on Naabai kopje (a small, rocky hill in a generally flat area), where you will have the opportunity to view Serengeti’s famous pink-headed lizards. After lunch, we will proceed further into the plains for a leisurely game drive. You will spend the night at the Serengeti.

Accommodations: Serena safari lodge (Luxury)/ Serengeti heritage (Midrange)

Meal plan: Full board

Day 2: Full-day Serengeti National Park

After a nourishing breakfast, you’ll continue into the vast plains of the magnificent Serengeti, home to a diverse array of hundreds of species of animal and bird. Each moment of today’s adventure will stimulate your senses; your eyes alert for each new sitting, your ears feasting on the calls, screeches, and buzz of life – or the still, dead silence of the hot noonday. The Serengeti is world famous for its diversity – you’ll likely see lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, and water buffalo – and all within a few feet of your jeep. It’s humbling to watch. You’ll also spot some of the park’s lesser-known, but equally beautiful creatures including eland, hyenas, gazelle, giraffes, zebra, monkeys, baboons, hippos, and rhinos. The hundreds of bird species, both endemic and migrating from Eurasia, are a special bonus for bird-watchers. The day’s delights will continue with a freshly cooked and delicious dinner, under the stars.

Day 3: Transfer from Serengeti to Ngorongoro conservation area

We will begin our day with an early morning game drive in the central Serengeti. The savannah is an active landscape and the air is flooded with the melodies the birds create as the regenerated sunlight starts to illuminate the full landscape. Your guide will study the prints on the ground to pursue predators. We will travel to the Ngorongoro Crater. You will be provided with dinner and overnight.

Accommodation: Ngorongoro Serena safari lodge (Luxury)/ Ang’ata tented lodge (Midrange)

Meal plan: Full board

Day 4: Ngorongoro crater game drive then transfer to Karatu

You will have breakfast at the lodge. Explore the conservancy game drive drives and visit of crater. With walls 2,000 ft high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual Noah’s Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. In fact, the crater has the greatest concentration of wildlife in the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam, full of flamingoes, a forest, and open plains. The large bull elephants that reside here have extremely large tusks, due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses. They are the most incredible elephants you’ll ever see in your life.

Accommodation: Manyara Serena lodge (Luxury)/ Eileen’s tree inn lodge (Midrange)

Meal plan: Full board

Day 5: Karatu to Tarangire National Park and drive back to Arusha

We will depart from Karatu in the early morning drive to Tarangire National where colossal termite mounds and ancient baobab trees await us. This park is renowned for its immense elephant population, picturesque scenery, and diverse bird life. Tarangire has enticing wildlife that includes elephants, lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetahs, mongoose, buffaloes, and baboons. When our game drive comes to an end, we will proceed to Arusha where you will have an overnight stay and dinner.

Accommodation: Mount Meru hotel (Luxury)/ Kibo place hotel

Meal plan: Bed & Breakfast
