Detailed Itinerary: 9 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

Welcome to Uganda! Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met and greeted by a driver guide. He will take you through the trip plan and then transfer you to the hotel for relaxation and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park with an afternoon boat cruise

After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to Lake Mburo National Park which is among Uganda’s smallest savannah national parks. It was upgraded as a national park in 1983 and it is home to 332 bird species, animals like buffaloes, Oribis, kobs, warthogs, and zebras among others.

Upon arrival at the park, you will check in at the lodge, and have lunch in preparation for an unforgettable experience of the boat cruise along the lake. Still, several animals like crocodiles, and hippos among others will be seen. After the boat cruise, you will head back to the lodge for relaxation, an overnight stay, and dinner.

Day 3: Game drive and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable

After breakfast, you will set out for the game drive through the park where your eyes will be fed with amazing sights and wildlife such as impalas, kobs, antelopes, also bird species.

Lake Mburo has a variety of antelopes including topi, duiker, Oribis, reedbuck, and klipspringer and the Rothschild giraffe has recently been reintroduced. However, the heights of the park have to be the Burch ells zebra and eland which are only found in two national parks in Uganda.

Saying goodbye to Lake Mburo National Park is never easy. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch as you enjoy the beautiful views. After lunch, your safari will continue westwards leaving Lake Mburo and heading towards Bwindi impenetrable, home of the heavyweights.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking- Bwindi Impenetrable

With well well-prepared packed lunch, you will assemble for briefing time at 8:00 am. During the briefing, you will learn more about the dos and don’ts of the gorilla trekking. It is at the briefing point where you will find the rangers who will inform you about gorilla tracking the great adventure and experience! The time taken to encounter these peaceful primates is impulsive for it may take 1-5 hours. Nevertheless, on encounter, one may be forced to say, it is stunning!!!! After the adventure certificate rewards will be successfully given out to every trekker. After the trek, you will return to the lodge for relaxation.

9 Days Uganda Safari Gorilla trekking- Bwindi Impenetrable

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This national park is famous for a variety of wildlife and chimpanzee species. The park was named after Queen Elizabeth the Second and it has a variety of animal species including the impalas, kobs, forest hogs, elephants, buffaloes, tree-climbing lions, and the cape buffaloes.

Upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth, you will have lunch and then do the afternoon set out for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel where you will see various of animals like crocodiles, hippos, water bucks, and buffaloes as well as birds like storks, and kingfishers among others.

Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise.

Arise early enough and after breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive where you will see various animals like elephants, elands, antelopes, buffaloes, and lions among others. After having your lunch at the lodge, you will transfer to Ishasha to see the famous tree-climbing lions which can only be sighted at Queen Elizabeth in the Ishasha sector. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will do the

afternoon set out for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will see various of animals like crocodiles, hippos, water bucks, and buffaloes as well as birds like storks, and kingfishers among others.

Day 7: Transfer to Kibale National Park

After an early breakfast, you will check out of the lodge for the transfer to Kibale Forest National Park with an en-route lunch. Kibale is famously known as the primate capital and the transfer to Kibale Forest National Park takes approximately 6 hours. Upon arrival at the park, you will check in at the lodge for relaxation and an overnight stay as you contemplate the chimpanzee trekking adventure that lies ahead of you.

Day 8: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi wetland walk

Arise very early and head to Kanyanchu with a packed lunch to embark on the chimpanzee trek in the Kibale forest. As you continue with the search for these beautiful chimps, you will view many other primate and animal species including the LHoests monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, bush babies, and many bird species including yellow-spotted victor, ramped tinker, crowned eagle, as well as the elephants which are mammals.

Immediately after the long trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch as you prepare to visit the Bigodi wetland sanctuary where you will view more primates like the blue monkeys, baboons, otters, bushbucks, mongoose, bush pigs, and many more. This place is also known for many species like the great blue turaco and the green-breasted pitta.

Day 9: Transfer back to Entebbe International Airport

After a good night’s sleep at your lodge, it will be time for your final transfer from Kibale Forest National Park to Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
